Roy Turnham Para-Olympic football visits BFS

Olympian visits BFS
Roy Turnham Para-Olympic football visited Black Firs on Tuesday 27th February 2018 with his guide-dog Pudsey. Roy was one of the newer members of the Football 5-a-side team, Roy made his Paralympic debut in London 2012 and was part of the team that finished 7th place. He still plays for England.
He spoke to all the children in assembly and we saw videos of some of his goals in recent competitions. He was a very inspiring sportsman to listen to. His message was to never give up fighting for your dreams. The grit he has shown throughout his life over coming setbacks was remarkable. His whole story was humbling to listen to.
All the children completed a sponsored circuit training session.
We raised £1300!!
40% went to support Roy's Paralympic training and 60% was kept for School.
We have put our £790 toward a cricket batting cage which will arrive in April.
