An opportunity has arisen to join our Mid Day Team here at Black Firs. The vacancy is for lunch time cover and will involve quite a lot of physical activity, so will suit someone quite active. Lunch times at Black Firs are fast paced and can be very challenging, especially on days where we are under pressure to get service done and cleaned-down for the hall to be used immediately after service.
Duties will include putting the tables and chairs out at the beginning of service, supervising children getting their dinners from the servery, helping the smaller children to cut up their food and directing the children where to go to scrape plates and put plates and cups after they've eaten. Supervising behaviour, helping with toileting for our pre-school children, some of whom may still be in nappies. Sending children to the first aider if they have injured themselves or feel ill, wiping tables throughout service and ensuring the hall is kept as clean as it can be, and at the end of service you will be expected to put the tables and chairs back away and help the kitchen with the full clean down.
You will work as part of a team in the hall, outside on the playground, or in pre-school. Mrs Lupton, our Kitchen Manager will tell you where you will be working at the beginning of service. On the job training will be provided and you will also be expected to complete online training for this job role.
The hours of work are between 11.45am and 1.15pm Mon-Friday term time only. Mid Days are paid for 7 hours per week and the current salary is £2750 per annum.
