Mrs Lou Lansley

I started working at Black Firs in May 2010. My eldest daughter attended the pre-school and I would follow their blog and be envious of the way they worked and the unique learning opportunities the school and its staff would provide. The school as a whole really interested me and eventually they gave me a job after me constantly asking for one! (I think they were testing my resilience looking back.)
Before Black Firs I worked as a Senior Nursery Supervisor at a local Private day nursery for 10 happy years, which was where I achieved my NVQ level 3. I have 3 daughters who have all been part of the Black Firs family and a dog called Barker (whose hobbies include escaping and eating everything he shouldn't!)
If I could offer any pearls of wisdom for those wishing to work with small children they would be;
1. Expect the unexpected.
2. Never forget to empty your pockets at the end of your working day.
3. Finally, never ever take yourself too seriously. There is always a reason to laugh!
