Miss Sian Wright

I am currently a pastoral TA in Year 5. My Black Firs journey started back in 2004 when I was a student at the school.
As one of my GCSE options I decided to study child development and I was fortunate to secure a placement at Black Firs in 2014. I loved my time on placement at the school and it gave me the confidence to pursue my dream of becoming a teacher. I left high school in 2016 I was successful in gaining an Advanced Apprenticeship in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools at Black Firs and I have worked here ever since.
I have fulfilled various roles in school including a one to one role providing support to children with special educational needs, a Play Worker in After School club and as a Teaching Assistant. I have had the privilege to work in all key stage areas across the school and I am currently studying for the final year of my Degree in Education Studies at the University of Derby which I attend in the evenings. Once I have completed my degree I plan to embark on my postgraduate studies to achieve Qualified Teacher Status.
I love working with the children here at Black Firs and have loved seeing the progression and achievements of children each term. In my spare time I enjoy playing netball and walking my dog.
